INSURANCE COMPANY DISPUTES & CLAIMS
Insurance companies have a self interest to not pay claims. You should never have to represent yourself alone against an insurance company or accept an unfair settlement offer. If an insurance company refuses to pay your claim, denies payment or offers an insufficient amount, it would be wise to hire a lawyer to enforce the insurance company’s obligations. If you or someone you love has a bad faith insurance claim in Texas or feel that the insurance company is not being fair, please contact our firm.
CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENTS
Construction is one of Texas’s largest industries, and unfortunately, construction site accidents kill and injure thousands of workers each year. Falls and contact with equipment are the leading causes of injuries at a constructions site. According to OSHA, one out of every ten construction workers suffer some kind of on the job injury. WAGE AND HOUR
Across Texas, workers are being robbed by their employers — robbed of proper overtime payments, robbed of the minimum wage that they are due, and robbed of bonuses, commissions, comp time and travel expenses. Such employees have a legal right to seek financial compensation via a wage and hour lawsuit or other legal action.
Texas employees are protected by the Fair Labor Standards Act, or FLSA, which governs wage and hour law. The FLSA establishes a federal minimum wage, provides for overtime payments, defines the 40-hour work week and regulates child labor. For instance, if an employee has failed to pay employees fully for overtime work, the FLSA protects and upholds their claim to this money.
If you are not being paid minimum wage or have worked more than 40 hours per week but have not received overtime pay, you have a legal right to claim overtime pay, along with interest, penalties and attorney fees.
If your employer has failed to pay for your overtime work, or has underpaid it, you have a legal right to seek proper overtime payment via a wage and hour legal action.
